おじいさんは 一本の光る竹の中に
かわいらしい 女の子を 見つけました
月日が流れ
輝くような美しい娘に育った
かぐや姫は
満月の夜
牛車に乗って
月の国へと帰って行きました

in a piece of shining bamboo
Many years had passed away
the princess Kaguya grew up
into a dazzling, beautiful lady
She was returning back to the moon
on the night of a full moon
in an oxcart
